Filters and white/black lists

InboxGuardian custom filters allow you to create simple or complex rules in order to filter valid/spam emails more efficiently.

What are white and black lists?

Simply put a white list is a list of email addresses that belong to friends, family and anyone that you know. A black list is a list of email addresses that you don't know and don't want to hear from.

eMails that match a white list entry are automatically moved to the clean folder and made available to your email client and emails that match a black list entry are automatically moved to the deleted folder.

What are custom filters?

A custom filter is a set of rules that are checked against incoming email. A custom filter can have various criteria. For example a filter could be set up to flag any email that comes from the USA with the sender address containing @visualware.com with a subject of "order confirmation" to be valid. This example is shown in the example image on the right.
